Elise Ence Jensen

Enoch, UT-- Elise Ence Jensen, cherished wife, mother, grandmother and friend, returned to her loved ones and her Heavenly Father on January 30, 2011 at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, UT. She was born in Cedar City on February 26, 1950 to Douglas and Lucille Roberts Ence. She married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Roland Jensen on March 13, 1968 in Las Vegas, NV and was sealed to him for time and all eternity on December 29, 1981.
Elise was a dear friend to many, a loving daughter, a kind and always caring mother and grandmother and a treasured wife. She dedicated herself to taking care of Jerry and their 5 boys and moved all over the country for Jerry's work. They lived in Minnesota, Montana, Wyoming, Oklahoma and Alaska. She loved being with her family and went on many fishing trips just so she wouldn't be apart from them. She enjoyed her time in Anchorage, AK. She loved the people and the beauty of the land. She was grateful, too, when they were able to come back to her hometown and be with her family and friends. Elise was always worried about the well-being of everyone and did everything she could to make sure we were all comfortable. Her sons are a daily example of the strong values that she taught them.
Elise was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings throughout her life in the Primary and Relief Society as well as Seminary Teacher and Cub Scout Leader. She loved any type of craft project and enjoyed teaching others new skills.
Her family will miss her dearly. Her husband, Jerry; her children--Brant (Rachelle Asay) of Fort Worth, TX, Scott (Kimberlee Matheson) of Enoch, UT, Ryan (Carrie Jordan) of Anchorage, AK, Marc (Brianne Purcella) of Anchorage, AK, Travis (Amanda Bainbridge) of Eugene, OR; 13 grandchildren; father Douglas Ence of Cedar City, UT; Sisters Teresa (David) Skougaard, Karen (Dennis) Smith, and Evelyn (Stephen) Ashworth all of Cedar City, UT; brother Rodney (Pam) Ence of Duck Creek, UT.
