Ernesto Carneiro de Carvalho

Ernesto Carneiro de Carvalho passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born in Guazupe, M.G., Brazil on September 29, 1925 to Augusto Careiro de Carvalho and Matilde Maria de Jesus Carvalho. He married Benedicta Ferreira Carvalho on July 1, 1950 in Socorro, S.P., Brazil.
Ernesto was a mechanical engineer and he served in the Brazilian Army in 1945. Ernesto and Benedicta served a mission in Brazil in 2002. He was an LDS Bishop three times in Sorocaba, Brazil. He was one of the pioneers in starting the Brazilian Portuguese speaking branch in Salt Lake City.
He loved nature especially birds, dogs and country life. He loved music and western movies, especially John Wayne movies. He loved dancing and he played the drums. He loved jokes and life. Mom was the love of his life.
His children are Regina Carvalho Heusser, Maria C. Carvalho, Ana Maria Carvalho and Daniel Alexandre Carvalho. His daughter of the heart, Solange Castro and the dog "Fluffy". His grand children are Clinton M. Heusser, Cyrena D. Heusser, Max B. Heusser, Ealexus Alexander Carvalho, Shelby Ann Carvalho and Gabriela Eva Carvalho. His great-grandchildren are Ethan, Haylee, Logan, Ella, Kaleya, Harper, Reef and Maximus.
A special thanks to all of Ernest's friends and all the nurses and doctors at Jordan Valley and at Silverado At Home. It was a special place for him.
Services will be held at the 17th Ward Chapel located at 1475 East 4705 South, Salt Lake City, Utah on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing to be held one hour prior. Interment will be at Sandy City Cemetery, Sandy, Utah.
