Eva Maria von le Fort Mulvany passed away April 7, 2011 in Orem, Utah. She was born on December 19, 1924 in the Berlin suburb of Erkner, Germany to Karl Peter Franz Alexander von le Fort of Bern, Switzerland and Berlin, Germany and Erna Hilde Mueller of Erkner. Her parents divorced and her mother later married Doctor Otto Suessenguth of Erkner. They raised Eva and her brother Gero von le Fort of Houston, Texas and Christian Suessenguth of Munich, Germany.
Eva met her husband, Harold Mulvany, shortly after the end of World War II and later came to the United States on July 4, 1947. They were married on July 9, 1947 and were sealed for time and eternity in the Logan Temple on August 29, 1974.
Her life's journey led her through the World War II destruction of Berlin and later through escape from Berlin ahead of the Russian army. Through all of that turmoil, she never let her circumstances affect her positive, optimistic view of life and her belief that people were good.
As a convert, in later life, to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she believed and loved everything about the church. She served in many Relief Society callings but most of all she loved teaching in Relief Society and doing compassionate service.
She graduated as a teacher from the Pestalozzi-Frobel-Haus College in Berlin, Germany with a major in child psychology. All through her life she was always a dedicated teacher.
She loved to sing and sang for many years with the Houston "Saengerbund" German singing club and studied and loved classical music (She was the only person we knew who whistled Mozart's musical pieces all around the house.).
Although she had many talents such as sewing, cooking, and crocheting, she was first and foremost a special wife and loving mother, and let all of her children know she was raising them with unconditional love - and with compassionate firmness. To her children she was the perfect mom.
Eva is survived by her daughters: Teresa Peyton of Deer Park, Texas, and children Luke (Jennifer and son David) and Sean (Angela); her son Bill (Cyndi) Mulvany of Midvale Utah and children Keri (sons Drew and Kobe), Matthew, and Taryn; and daughter Eva (George) Bills of Provo, Utah and children Scott (Julie) Bills and children Taylor and Natalie; Lisa (Jeff) Porter and children Savanah, Emily, Justin, Ethan, and Kate; Crystal (Matt) Lund and children Cayden, Ashlyn, Dylan, Jackson, and Alison; Eric (Marisa) Bills and children Kaylee, Lucy, and Sofi; Michael Johnson; Laura (Blake) Heringer and children Summer and Caleb; Michele Johnson; and Kristin (Lothar) Alomia and children Isabelle, Eliana, and Dominic. She was preceded in death by her son: Michael Mulvany and sons-in-law Jimmy Peyton and Louis Johnson.
Eva was a special and loving mother and grandmother who believed all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren were hers and she never stopped telling them that. She leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 28 ½ great-grandchildren.
