Fern Marion Johnson

Our beloved Wife, Sister, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, passed away peacefully January 14, 2011. She was born June 7, 1933 in Grand Island, NE to Edgar Stevenson and Helen Spiehs Stevenson. She grew up and attended schools in Grand Island, Nebraska. She was married in 1951 to "Skip" Brehm, who died later that year while serving in the U.S. Army. In 1954 she married Stan Hampton Sr. they were later divorced. She married James Johnson in 1970 and together they raised their combined family of nine children. James Jr. was born to them in 1973.
She spent most of her career as an office secretary, retiring from Lyn Distributing as an Office Manager in 1996.
Fern loved Bowling, going camping and fishing with her family, cooking, watching the Utah Jazz, slot machines, horse races, and Bingo, but most of all, she loved spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband, James Johnson, Clearfield, UT; two sisters, Donna (Allen) Gosser, Codell, KS; and Shirley Spencer, Grand Island, NE; nine children, Robert Carroll, Las Vegas, NV; Stan Hampton, Bountiful, UT; Gary (Judy) Hampton, Hill City, S.D; Dave Hampton, Clearfield, UT; Steve (Sue) Hampton, Lehi, UT; Randall Hampton, Kaysville, UT; Jamie (Ron) Martinez, Commerce City, CO; Jodi (Dave) Salaman, Westminster, CO; and James Jr. (Shelyce) Johnson, Roy, UT; 31 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, and a step-son, Jay Johnson.
A viewing will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church 3329 Harrison Blvd. Ogden, UT 84403 on Friday January 21, 2011 at 1:30 PM with Funeral Services immediately following, at 3:00 PM.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Carilyn, Debbie, Nate, Jeff, Laura, also "Cricket" and Carol Reiva.
