Ferrin Wood

Ferrin Wood, age 95, passed away peacefully in his home on December 20, 2011. He was born August 25, 1916 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Wellington and Elizabeth Lavinia Wood. He was the youngest of eight children. He was preceded in death by his sweetheart, Fay. Ferrin was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ferrin married Fay Huntington on June 29, 1939 in the Manti Temple. He was blessed with six children Beverly Fay (Farrell, deceased) Taylor, Jeanette Wood, Glen (Karen) Wood, Lois Ann (Dan) Geslison, Sharlene (Bruce) Davis, and Marlene (Dave) Staheli. He is the grandfather of 32 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Ferrin held various callings in the church including bishop, high counselor, high priest group leader, and Provo Temple worker. Ferrin was always serving others through his hands and through his faith. He loved to fish and loved being with his family. Funeral services will begin Friday, December 23, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Spanish Fork Stake Center, 1006 E. 200 S. Spanish Fork, Utah. Friends may pay their respects prior to the funeral from 8:30-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Spanish Fork City cemetery. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides of Alpine Home and Hospice and Maple Creek Hospice for their kindness toward Ferrin and his family.
