Francisca Lidia Lima de Martos

Francisca Lidia Lima de Martos (Olivera), our beloved Mother, Sister, and Grandmother passed away June 06th, 2008 in Ogden, Utah. Francisca courageously fought against cancer and to stay alive to see her grandchildren grow into the strong, honest, and caring men and women she was teaching them to be. She was born on October 04th, 1946 to Ricardo Lima Kjonuma and Carmen Olivera Miranda in Arequipa, Peru. She was married to Jaime Teodoro Martos Pita in Lima, Peru in 1964. To their marriage two children were born: Rosa Maria Martos Lima and Ali Leon Martos Lima.
Her passion was her family; to her we were all her children and only wanted the best for us. She always wanted the family to stay close. Apprehensive, strong willed, and honest and for such; misunderstood at times but always loved by whomever met her even for just a few minutes. She always taught her children not to ever give up and to be strong and honest even in the most adverse situations. She was an excellent friend like there is no other, always ready to help to whomever needed the most. Her other passion was cooking; although she never admitted it openly, she was by far the best cook. Always with a warm plate of soul food for anyone that was hungry. She enjoyed sewing, and flowers, but over everything she enjoyed being with her grandchildren watching them grow and teaching them new things. Her smile and determination will never be forgotten by anyone.
She moved to Utah in 2001 with her husband and her two children and worked in Farmington at Cornerstone. She was dedicated to her duties at work. She found out she had cancer early in 2008. Her first question to her surgeon before undergoing the initial surgery was "when will I be able to go back to work", and as friends from work visited her in the hospital, she would always re-assure them that she would go back to work to help them as soon as she felt better. She always stated that "she was proud to work there with such wonderful people". She certainly fought to get better and get back to work amongst other reasons.
She is survived by her numerous children but two biological, 7 grandchildren and her siblings; Eloy Silvestre Lima Olivera, Violeta Luz Lima Olivera, Carlos Velarde and Cesar Velarde. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family wishes to express eternal gratitude to her surgeon, hospital staff, numerous friends and relatives that always were there for her, in person or by phone. She would call the nurses that took care of her "radiant butterflies". We will always be thankful for the moral support we were given by everyone at Mc Kay Dee Hospital.
A Memorial service will be held in her Honor and loving memory on Friday, June 13th, 2008 at St. Josephs Church located at 24th street in Ogden, Utah at 5:00 p.m.
