Fred Kay Nakagawa

Fred Kay Nakagawa, 62, passed away Monday, July 23, 2007. He fought valiantly for the past 20 years with health issues and more severely in the last three years. He lost his last final battle to liver failure and is now free from his struggle with pain and physical limitations.
He was born April 21, 1945 in Phoenix, Arizona to Fred and Jessie Nakagawa. He graduated from Lehi High School and worked at Geneva Steel for many years. On July 3, 1964, he married his high school sweetheart, Suzanne Smith. They were later sealed for time and all eternity on February 23, 1966 in the St. George Temple. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church.
He will be greatly missed by his wife; three children, Trent (April) Nakagawa, Bret Nakagawa, Wendy (John) Chilton; three grandchildren (Kayla, Kezia, and Rachel Nakagawa); mother; brother, Lance (Louene) Nakagawa; sister, Tesa (Peter) Mace. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
Fred loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. They were the center of his life and he will be missed dearly. Dad, we are very proud of your valiant battle. You are our hero.
The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to the many people who made his last 3 years so special: Dr. Karwande, LDS Hospital, LDS Heart Failure Prevention & Treatment Program, LDS Wound Clinic, and Envision Home Health.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 27th at 11:30 a.m. in the Lehi City Cemetery, 1100 North 100 East.
