Gary Gayle Denning passed away April 22, 2012 in Sandy, Utah due to complications of diabetes which he suffered from for many years. Gary was born December 3, 1931 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to William Vernal Denning, Sr. and Kathryn Isabel Poor Dennning. He now joins his loving wife JoAnn Cleveland Denning. They were married in Murray, Utah on July 5, 1958. They had three children, Kenneth G. Denning, Roger S. Denning, and Denise Denning Engh (Eric).
Gary is a veteran of the United States Army where he served from 1950 to 1956. He was stationed in Germany. He graduated from East High School and Technical School. He worked for his dad, Vern Denning Car Lot, Bennett Ford, Western Electric and then worked for Utah Power and Light first as a tree trimmer and later as a Senior Draftsman. He retired from Utah Power and Light.
Gary loved to work with his hands. He was very artistic and a great carpenter. He loved the outdoors and taking his family camping, fishing, dirt biking and working in the yard. Gary loved to travel. He especially loved southern Utah, his vacation to Alaska and going on a cruise with his wife JoAnn. Gary loved riding his Harley and going on bike trips with JoAnn and his two sons. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his children, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and his brothers Gene Denning (Beverly) and Steve Denning (Lorie). He is preceded in death by his parents William Vernal Denning, Sr. and Kathryn Isabel Poor, his wife JoAnn Cleveland Denning and his brothers William Vernal Denning, Jr. and Stanley Denning.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Sandy 13th Ward located at 8400 South 675 East, Sandy, Utah, with a viewing prior starting at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, Utah.
