Gary Arlin Hanks

Gary passed away after a painful battle with cancer on Tue, March 3 2012. Gary was preceded in death by his father, John Hanks and his brothers Jim and Dan Hanks. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his daughter Sara, his mother Erva, his sister Joan Pitcher Hanks and his brother Merlyn Hanks. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 9 2010, at 11:00 am, At the Eastridge 5th Ward, 11777 S Willowood Dr, Draper, Ut. Friends may visit with the family at the same place on Thur evening from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, or Fri morning from 10:00 to 10:45 am. Gary graduated from East High, and went on to attain a Masters Degree in social work from U of U. He worked in the US Army from 1968 until 1978 when he was honorably discharged. He went on to work as a social worker in various places around the country. Life was challenging at times for Gary, but he always tried his best. He put a lot of effort understanding the Gospel, and returning to Heavenly Father with a peaceful heart. Gary loved to spend time with his family. His daughter Sara was the light of his life. In his spare time he enjoyed working on home improvement projects, especially woodwork. Gary was a dedicated caretaker of his family. He will be deeply missed!!!
