Our dear Genevieve Belle Davis passed away June 16, 2006, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born April 11, 1915, in Groveland, Idaho, to Edward B. and Jesse Belle Hansen Johnson. She married Seth E. Davis on March 23, 1933, and they lived in the Blackfoot area until making their home in Buhl, Idaho, in 1945. Seth preceded her in death on June 11, 1980, and Gen continued to love and nurture her extended family. Their marriage was solemnized in 1996 in the Ogden Temple.
Gen was an active member in the LDS Church and served in many callings, most recently as the pianist for the Relief Society until her 90th year. She loved music and the piano, reading, working in her yard, nature and serving her family. She will always be remembered for her sweet, gentle nature, her kindness and her desire to do right.
She is survived by her sons, D. Monte (Caralee) of Buhl, Idaho; Dan (Judy) of Sandy, Utah; Steven of Burley, Idaho; her 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vivian (Dr. Gale A.) Allen and Elaine (Ron) Hansen; and brothers, Edward A. "Ted" (Jan) Johnson and Keith Johnson. She was predeceased by sisters, Evelyn Callis, Lola Presley and Louise Wimmer, and twins, Laverna and Lavern, who died shortly after birth.
The funeral will be held Saturday, June 24, at the Buhl LDS 2nd Ward church, 501 Main, at 10 a.m. Friends and family may call from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at the West End Cemetery in Buhl.
