Geniel Jensen Bell, 92, peacefully passed away on August 30, 2024 at the Orchard View Assisted Living Facility in Payson, Utah. She was born to Clifford and Lavera Jensen in Bear River City, Utah on March 10, 1932. She is the oldest and, she would say, wisest of 3 siblings. Geniel married Bud Russell Bell in the Salt Lake Temple on September 21, 1956. To that union was born six children.
She graduated from Dee Memorial Nursing School and became a registered nurse. She enjoyed working in the surgical unit at McKay Dee Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting and was a very good seamstress in her younger years. She had a wonderful wit and humor.
She served as a Primary teacher off and on for many years and also served as RS Teacher in the Lakeview Ward. She served as temple worker, alongside her husband in the St George Temple. She learned to swim around 60 years old, while living in St George. She was so proud of that accomplishment and her husband cheered her on. She grew up on a farm with lots of cats and would dress them up put them in buggies.
She is survived by her 5 children, Charlene (Tim), Janice, Blaine (Julie), Deanne (Troy), and Darin. Also two siblings, Myrna (Norvel) Humphreys, and Miles (Janet) Jensen. Also 18 wonderful grandchildren, who she adored and 31 great grandchildren. Those who preceded her in death, were her husband, Bud Russel Bell, her son, Michael, a sister, Lawana and a grandson, Timothy . We love her and will miss her, and we know that she is with her loved ones and we will see her again!
We would like to thank those at Orchard View Assisted Living for making our mother feel comfortable and loved. Also we would like to thank her special friend, Susan, for her support and friendship. Mom loved her.
Her funeral will be Saturday, September 7 at 11 am at the Rock Creek Ward Chapel, 3267 W 700 S in Syracuse, Utah. Prior to the funeral there will be a visitation for family members at 10:30am. Her burial will be at the Roy City Cemetery, 5200 South 2300 West in Roy, Utah afterwards. A luncheon will be served at the Rock Creek Ward Chapel following the burial for family and friends.
