George Ray Bancroft 1954 - 2007
George Ray Bancroft, 53, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother passed away May 9, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. George was born May 1, 1954 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to George Lyle Bancroft and Joan Fackrell. He married Kenna Jean Whetsel on July 16, 1975. George was loved by all who knew him. He served in the US Army 6 years. He was an ASE Master Mechanic and was sought after for his mechanic abilities. He loved outdoor activities, working on cars and motorcycles, but most of all he was a devoted Dad and Grandpa. He will be remembered for his unselfishness and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was a member of the LDS Church. He is loved and survived by his wife, Kenna Jean (Jeanie); son, George Brandon (Kimberly); daughter, Ashley Jean; granddaughters, Riley Ann and Alaina Grace Bancroft; parents, George Lyle Bancroft, Joan F. Hansen and stepfather, David Hansen; sisters, Carrie and Amy and brothers, Russell and Steven. He is preceded in death by his sister, Jeannie. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 14, 11:00 a.m. at the Central Park Ward LDS Chapel, 27th South and 3rd East. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Central Park Ward LDS Chapel and on Monday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will take place in the Murray City Cemetery, 5490 South Vine Street. The family expresses deep appreciation to Drs. Maxwell, Ford, Sause, Scott, Bauman, Ott and Wood. Also to Rita and Sheri from Intermountain Home Care Hospice for their compassionate care.
