George Hall Clark was born on April 2, 1959 in Rolla, Missouri, to Barbara Hall and George Bromley Clark. He spent his childhood and most of his teenage years in Rolla, a college town of about 13,000 people that is situated just north of the Ozark mountains. He is the third oldest child and oldest son in a family of seven children.
He is also a 5th generation member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saits on both sides of his family.
George was active in Church while growing up in Missouri. He developed long-term friendships with neighbors. He played trombone in the Rolla High School band. He also had a great singing voice. Among other opportunities, he participated in four-part Christmas caroling with his siblings.
His family relocated to the Denver Metro area in 1976, just in time for his senior year in high school. He bloomed in his new settings and, with his charismatic personality, became very popular at Wheat Ridge High School.
George attended Ricks College for one year before serving his two-year mission in the Florida Tampa mission. He returned to Ricks after his mission and then transferred to BYU. He has two associates degrees: one in paralegal studies and one in business. Most of his work experience is in customer service and sales, mainly in financial services.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1986 to 1990. His whole tour of duty was enjoyed at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia. He has lived in Missouri, Colorado, Idaho, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Arizona, and Utah. He has held multiple callings in the Church, most recently being on the Stake High Council.
He has been married and divorced four times and helped bring six children into the world. He was briefly married as a young man to Nancy. Later he married Colette, with whom he had Alexandra, Andrew, and Austin. After that, he and Anne-Marie had Madison, Michael, and Mathew. In his later years he married Debby.
He graduated from this life on August 29, 2024. George was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law David Zappitello, and earlier this year by his oldest sister Elizabeth Clark. He is survived by five siblings: Margaret Zappitello, Melinda (Warren) Pressler, John (Melinda) Clark, David (Jolene) Clark, and Richard (Cynthia) Clark.
His stated purpose in life was to see that Freedom is spread across the globe in preparation for the return of the Son of God. He will undoubtedly continue to prepare himself and loved ones on the other side of the veil.
