Our beloved George Edward Willoughby, 68, of Sandy, died January 14, 2013 after months of courageously battling cancer. He was born in Richmond CA on June 2, 1944 to Willie Jesse and Agnes Beatrice Willoughby. George worked as a machinist most of his adult career. He had many interests and abilities including landscaping/gardening, music, good food, cars, cars and more cars. As a member of the Car Club, he drove race cars for several years. George married and was sealed to his eternal companion, Dottie K Cowan on July 13, 1985 in the Salt Lake Temple. They have had 27 years of companionship underscored by true love. George is survived by his wife Dottie and 6 stepchildren; C. Richard (Zeba) Cowan, Mary Dubreuil, Jane (Stanley) Zeidner, Bob (Lisa) Cowan, Anne Cowan, Joe (Laura) Cowan. He is also survived by 13 step-grandchildren, and a son, Steven Edward Willoughby, a nephew, Greg Willoughby, a niece, Debbie Budden and their families. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the LDS Crescent 16th Ward church house, 251 East 10600 South in Sandy. A viewing will be held from 10:30am-11:45am with funeral services following at 12:00pm. Burial will be at the Lake Hills Memorial Estates 10200 South State Street in Sandy.
