Gerald E Reese

Gerald "Jerry" Edwin Reese, 82, passed away April 26, 2010. Gerald was born on December 29, 1927, in Alhambra, CA. He was the youngest son of Lester Reese and Evalina Reese (Wallace), the step-son of Gerald Wallace and the brother of Lester "Ted" Reese.
Raised in Southern California and the San Franciso/Bay area, he attended Berkley High School where he sang in the acapella choir and enjoyed basketball.
Jerry, a World War II Veteran, entered the Navy in 1946, where he served as a radio disc jockey for the Armed Forces radio on Johnson Island. Upon his release from the service, he went on to study at the Faucit School of Theatre, American River Jr., College, Sacramento State College and McGeorge School of Law, where he studied Political Science and Theatre Arts. He went on to work in Law Enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff and also worked as a Disc Jockey on FM radio.
He married Lois Priscella Merlino and they had two daughters, Susan and Nancy.
Jerry's father was in Vaudeville and worked as a singer for Warner Brother Studios where he did voiceovers for movie stars. His mother was a dancer and singer, who also did plays. The influence of his parents created his undeniable love for music and acting during his childhood, which carried over into adulthood where he did commercials and countless plays at Jayrob/Stagedoor Comedy Playhouse in Sacramento.
Later in life he married Marian "Jeannie" Williams, with whom he had one daughter, Megan.
He was survived by his daughters, Susan Mitchell, Nancy (Chris) Clark and Megan Reese. His grandchildren, Spencer Mitchell, Emily (Stephen) Davidson, Carissa (Kevin) Jackson, Corinne Clark, Miranda Clark, Allison Clark and great-grandchildren, Remi Davidson and Oakley Jackson.
Jerry was a fun-loving person, who always had a great attitude. He was a kind-hearted man with a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
We would like to give special thanks for all of the wonderful love and care that the people at Access Hospice and the Beehive home provided for our father. We feel truly grateful and blessed for having them in our father's life.
A private graveside service to celebrate Jerry's life will be held at the Utah Veteran's Memorial Park in Riverton, Utah.
