Gladys "Elaine" Davis Christofferson, 81, died Friday, September 21, 2007 at the Orem Nursing and Rehabilitation, Orem, Utah after a short stay at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center following a heart attack.
She was born December 31, 1925 in Firth, Idaho to George Jefferson and Jessie Ireta Nilsson Davis. On December 23, 1941 she married her sweetheart Wayne Franklin Christofferson in Blackfoot, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Elaine lived most of her life in Southeastern Idaho, and then in 1975 her family moved to Utah. She lived several years in Huntington, Taylorsville, and the Tremonton areas, and most recently with her daughter, Kaye Lyn Funk, in Saratoga Springs. Elaine was well known for her independence, strength, and the ability to do what most women would not even attempt, such as: driving tractors, hauling hay, milking cows, changing tires, repairing cars, driving 18 wheeled spud trucks, hooking up and pulling her own travel trailer, and even welding on ships during World War II. She preferred doing anything outdoors and did it well.
Elaine is survived by her children Helen (Moe) Graham, Preston, Idaho; Larry (Wendy) Christofferson, Olathe, Colorado; Sandra (Terrell) Gneiting, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Tracy (Willie) Frisbie, Castle Dale, Utah; Kaye Lyn (Rex) Funk, Saratoga Springs, Utah; 31 Grandchildren, 29 Great-Grand Children, and 1 Great-Great Grandchild; Her siblings: Betty (Keith) Dayley, South Jordan, Utah; George Ray (Judy) Davis, Aberdeen, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband, three children, one grand-child, both parents, and three brothers.
Funeral services held Tuesday, Sept 25, 2007 at the Shelley 4th Ward, Shelley, Idaho. Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. A viewing will precede the services beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Firth Cemetery.
