Obituary Notice for Glen LeVern Harker St. George, UT- Glen LeVern Harker, 85, devoted father and husband, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011, in St. George, UT. He was born September, 1926, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, to LeVern and Ethel Brown Harker.
Glen grew up in Salt Lake City, UT. After graduating from West High School, Glen joined the U.S. Navy as an engineer. He spent from 1943 to 1946 in the Pacific Islands, and in China, where he taught school, at the Chinese Naval Training Center. Following his service in WWII, Glen served a LDS mission to Western Canada where he was born. He attended BYU in Provo, UT, where he met is eternal sweetheart, and companion, Joan Terry. For both, it was "Love at first sight". They were married in the Salt Lake LDS temple June 20, 1951. He is survived by: his wife Joani; children, Michael Glen, Steven Le, Jana, and Lapita; three granddaughters; and many great grandchildren; also brothers Keith, and Gordon. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sons, Kerry LeVern, Bret Elvis, and George P. Lee.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. George 12th Ward Chapel, 449 S. 300 E., St. George, UT. A visitation will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again Friday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., both at the chapel. Interment will follow at the St. George, City Cemetery.
