Glen Eugene Sudbury

Another Master Gardner was called to work in the vineyards of our beloved Heavenly Father. Glen Eugene Sudbury was released from his earthly callings on August 14th, 2007 as he passed peacefully through the veil.
Glen was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and teacher to so many people during his time here on earth. From the stranger looking for a hand up to his family and friends that were closest to him, he never hesitated putting aside his own personal comfort to ease the burdens of others. Often sacrificing beyond his own capabilities to see that others lives could be lifted. Glen could boast of many accomplishments in his life but the one that he bragged the most about was his own family. He worked hard through out his life to support them. Life experience had taught him that there are good times and bad and he was a teacher of all within earshot of preparing yourself for the difficult times.
He was born on January 15, 1946 to Paul Sudbury and Anne La Rue Metcalf in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is survived by his wife Kathryn Anne Spray who he married on Sept 15, 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple and his five children Jennifer (Cary) Archibald, Juliet (Jeff) Whicker, Heidi (Schott) Taylor, Marie (Jason) Peterson and Matthew. He is also the second of 11 children and is survived by all of them.
After graduating from Jordan High School he went on to get a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Utah with an emphasis in Music. He spent his life working with drywall to feed his family while his passion was for gardening, music, reading and teaching. He always loved to share his latest tidbits of information with anyone who would listen. He looked at every conversation as an opportunity to teach and every moment alone as an opportunity to further develop his own learning. When times were good he would share with all those who were around him and when times were bad he would look to himself as the person responsible to work though it. He never made a decision based on what he would get but always focused on how others would benefit from it.
In celebration of a life that touched so many, there will be a gathering to remember the service and love that he shared. This gathering of the viewing will be held at the LDS chapel on 7150 S 2700 W, West Jordan, Utah. An informal opportunity to morn with the family will be on Aug 17 from 6 to 8 pm and on Aug 18 from 10 to 10:45 am. A more formal celebration of his life will be on Aug 18 at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that you perform an act of service for a family in need.
