Glenn Elwood Eames

Glenn Elwood Eames was born February 14, 1933 in Logan, Utah. He was the second child of six born to Rulon Edwin Eames and Wyoma Dunn. He enjoyed his time at Logan high school, where he ran track, was right half back on the football team, and was president of the boys league.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He was always proud of his military service and loved his country.

He met Marlene Clark in Logan, initially while he was a checker at Safeway. When he was going to the University of Utah Pharmacy school, they would meet by the library on a grassy Knoll. She invited him for a nice dinner at her mom‘s house, and on March 16, 1956 they were married in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple. They were married for 56 years until the time of her death in 2012. Together they had seven children. Four girls and three boys. Glenn was a hard-working and involved father. He helped his kids with math and medical subjects in school, took them on fun vacations, and inspired a love of God in them.

Glenn graduated from the University of Utah Pharmacy school with a Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy in 1958. He worked as a pharmacist for many years starting in Payson, Utah then Butte, Montana then Ogden, Utah. He never missed a day of work for illness in all those years. He always had a medicine or supplement for any ailment.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. He served in many church callings. He was a temple ordinance worker for years at the St. George Temple, and was often ministering and serving others in the ward.

He loved all things medical and scientific. He enjoyed reading, especially medical, and religious books and novels by Robin Cook and John Grisham. He didn’t cook, but he loved to eat, especially dinners made by his kids. He always had a sweet tooth and could be counted on to have some licorice or a Snickers bar on hand.

He liked gadgets, like watches and calculators and when smart phones were invented he filled his phone with apps until the storage capacity cut him off.

He loved a good football game. Especially BYU, University of Utah or Army/Navy. Watching sports with his son-in-law’s, Tim and Kelly was his favorite way to spend a Sunday night.

He loved his kids and grandkids and enjoyed talking to them, holding them, and going to their activities. He was a fun grandpa with babies and adult grandkids alike. For the last couple of years of his life, he lived with his daughter Catherine, who lovingly took care of him. His daughter Julie was also able to be his wonderful hospice nurse.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene, and his sons, Russ and Rulon Eames. He is survived by his children Julie Lee (Jim) , Wade Eames, Catherine Haws( Alan), Theresa Olsen( Kelly), Angie Waddoups (Tim) and daughter-in-law’s Susan Eames and Janice Graham. He has 21 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
