Gwen Jean (Bench) Jessop passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Salt Lake City, Utah due to complications of Diabetes. Gwen was born September 18, 1940 to Kenneth and Millie (Call) Bench. Gwen was the 3rd of 4 siblings. She grew up in Logan, Utah. She married Michael Jessop on July 31, 1959 and they moved to Saginaw, Michigan. Mom was a wonderful homemaker and faithfully served in several church positions.
She has 4 children that survive her; Laurie (Vic) Johnson, Tony (Jayne) Jessop, Dale (Angela) Jessop, and Aaron Jessop. Further survived by grandchildren; Lisa (Mark) Newson, Eric (Andrea) Budd, Holly Budd, Michael Budd, Katie Jessop and Brayden Jessop Surviving Great-grandchildren include; Aubrionna Newson, Peyton and Easton Budd, and other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Frank (Eleanor) Bench, sisters Lurlene (Marlin) Anderson, and Coral (Bench) Liljenquist.
Later, divorced Gwen moved back to Utah and earned a certificate from Bridgerland Applied Technology Center. Gwen worked for a time at Autoliv in Ogden, UT. Gwen was happiest around children, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known affectionately by the neighborhood children as Grandma Gwen. She enjoyed finding new recipes and cooking treats for family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and various types of crafts. She learned sewing skills from her mother who was a seamstress. She was thrilled when others acknowledged her ability and creativity. These creations often became gifts for her family and friends.
A viewing for family and friends will be held at the Millville 1st Ward, located at 110 South Main, in Millville , Utah from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, June 24, 2017. Immediately following the viewing will be a funeral service . Following the funeral services a graveside dedication taking place at the Millville Cemetery.
