Harold LeGrand Christensen, 73, of Orem, Utah, passed away from Congestive Heart Failure early Saturday, July 7, 2007 surrounded by his children.
He was born April 30, 1934 in Indianola, Utah to Aleen Mary Bigler and Harold Que Christensen. He attended Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. He continued learning all of his life earning numerous degrees and certificates through correspondence courses. He married his sweetheart, Karol Marie Robinson in Spring City, Utah on his twenty first birthday April 30, 1955 and later was sealed to her in the Manti Temple once again on his birthday April 30, 1963. LeGrand, as his friends and family called him, served in the National Guard and as Chief Mechanic Motor Sergeant over transportation in the Army. He was a Heavy Duty Mechanic at Toole Army Depot and for many years at Utah Department of Transportation.
LeGrand was a proud member of the Orem Golden Kiwanis and the American Legion Post 72. He was awarded the American Legion Meritorious Service Medal for his work on the Orem City Veterans Memorial Cross Project. LeGrand was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He held many callings in his LDS wards including High Priest Group Leader and Ward Clerk. He also served as a Scout Commissioner. He loved to attend the temple and worked in the Timpanogos Temple for many years. LeGrand enjoyed spending countless hours on genealogy, spending time with his family and restoring the old family tractor from his youth.
He is survived by his children, Tena (Britt) Koeven, Hal (Jeanie) Christensen and Jodie (Kevin) Visker; Siblings, Aleta Hancock, Karl Christensen, Ella Mae Faux, Arcalee Millhollin, Lamont Christensen and Brent Christensen; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Mytice and brother, Paul Christensen.

Friends and family may call on Friday, July, 13, 2007 at the Sharon Park 3rd Ward LDS Chapel located at 225 East 200 North Orem, Utah. Funeral Services will be held at the same address at 11:00 a.m. , Saturday, July 14, 2007 with a viewing held immediately before from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Spring City Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. We would like to thank the Orem American Legion Post 72 which will be performing the 21 gun salute.
