Harold David Rogers

David was born in Elko, Nevada on July 7, 1942 and passed away on December 22, 2010 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in Elko and graduated from Elko High School in 1960. David proudly served in the Nevada National Guard from 1960 thru 1968. He spent 20 years working with his father and grandfather at Rogers Tire Service and serving with the Elko Jaycees before moving to Utah. David managed a restaurant and then spent 23 years driving a mail truck from Provo to Saint George for Maxway Trucking.
David is survived by his father Thad Rogers, Elko, Nevada; sister Ginger Perry, Grand Junction, Colorado; brother Dennis Rogers, Reno, Nevada; sister Jody Tewell, Elko, Nevada; daughter Kay Dawn (John) Moore from a previous marriage, Elko, Nevada; his wife Karen Marie Rogers, Salt Lake City, Utah and their 3 sons Chuck (Lisa) Gove in Ogallala, Nebraska, Jason Gove and Christopher Tarver both of Salt Lake City, Utah as well as 10 grand children.
David was a kind and generous man with a great sense of humor and will be missed by all that shared his life.
The family sends many thanks to Maxway Trucking, Dr. Gandolfi and the whole staff at the Granger Medical clinic, the ER and staff at Intermountain Medical Center and Dr. Allen, and the staff at First Choice Home Health & Hospice Care. Heartfelt gratitude also goes to Janet Skinner, a good friend and mentor. We would also like to thank everyone for the thoughts and prayers sent to the family.
A luncheon to celebrate David's life will be at the LDS Copperhill 3rd Ward, 6755 West 3800 South, West Valley City, Utah on January 8, 2011 from 11am until 2pm.
