She is well known for sharing her musical talents, playing the saxophone in dance bands, weddings, rest homes, funerals, and community and church functions. She enjoyed her civic positions including Town Clerk, Mayor, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and faithfully served in many organizations in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and her husband, Boyd, served a full-time mission in Cape Town, South Africa and Namibia.

She loved to sing with her daughters, play Scrabble and Rook, solve newspaper puzzles, read, travel, compile histories, perform with the ukulele ladies, and keep in touch with family and friends. She loved the fall season, sister's parties, and bridge mix.
