HELEN NELSON BOGGS
Cedar City, UT,- Helen Nelson Boggs, age 70, passed away Sunday morning, April 24, 2011, at Valley View Medical Center, in Cedar City, UT, with her 2 daughters by her side following a short, but brutal battle with cancer. Helen was born in Washington, PA, May 23, 1940, to Jacob and Iris Majors Nelson.
Helen moved to Las Vegas, NV, in her early twenties where she worked as a keno runner in a local casino and met her husband Tom L. Boggs they married in Las Vegas, NV, on December 31, 1967. The couple raised their 2 daughters in Las Vegas, NV, and retired to Cedar City, UT, where Tom had gone to college and the family spent many vacations and fishing trips together. Helen was a five foot one inch spit fire red head and had no fear of anyone. She fought hard right to the end. She was loved dearly and will be missed by everyone that knew her.
She is survived by: daughters Lori Jean McKinnon of Las Vegas, NV, and Melodie Starr Ball of Cedar City, UT; Two of her three grandsons, Thomas Boggs and Robert Boggs of Cedar City, UT; her only great grandchild, Charles Thomas Boggs; Two sisters Madeline Cathers of Cedar City, UT, Frankie Kehn of Hickory, PA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her youngest grandson, Brandon "Christopher" Boggs.
