Irene Beth Berrett, our wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died of complications related to a terrible accident four years earlier. At the time of her passing, Wednesday, March 31, 2010, Irene was surrounded by her family members. Irene was born on December 12, 1934 and raised in Seattle, Washington, to David S and Hazel Fullmer. Irene turned down a full ride scholarship from the University of Washington to attend B.Y.U. while attending Brigham Young University she met her greatest love and friend, Frank Edward Berrett. They were married on December 14, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. On that day, a very special eternal family was created that will be united after death. Frank and Irene lived in Provo Utah; Tacoma Puyallup and Centralia, Washington; West Vancouver British Columbia; Sandy, Salt Lake and Draper, Utah. Irene loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a dedicated wife and mother, masterful teacher and exemplary missionary. She served as a Young Women's President four times, and early morning Seminary teacher and as a full time missionary twice with her Husband. Irene returned to college at forty and graduated form Evergreen College. She worked for the Child Protection agency in Washington and taught Child Development at Centralia College. Frank and Irene presided over the Bogota and later Barranquia missions (1986-1989) they were also called to preside over the Dominican Republic MTC (2001-2003) Frank and Irene served missions in Utah with the Inner City, English as a second language program and the United Way. Irene blessed the lives of all those she knew with an amazing attitude of hope and confidence in the Lord, Jesus Christ. Her quick wit, brilliant mind and talent to reach and teach others were gifts to all who knew her. If there was a final message she could leave all those she loved and served it would be "Feel Loved!" Irene Berrett is survived by her husband, Frank Edward Berrett, her sister, Dorothy (Hyrum) Oaks, SLC, UT; brother, Lynn (Ethel) Fullmer, Tacoma, WA; children, Scott (Denise) Berrett, Houston, TX; Cindi (Scott) Savage, Alpine, UT; Karlan (Mark) Richards, Sandy, UT; Britt (Lori) Berrett, Dallas, TX; Lail (Scott) Covington, Austin, TX; Irene is also survived by her 19 grandchildren and one great grand daughter. Irene was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Fullmer; son, Gary William Berrett, and grandson, Justin Edward Berrett. Funeral services will be held at the Draper 2nd Ward building, 1617 East 12700 South, Draper Utah at 11:00 a.m. proceeded by a family visiting with friends and neighbors on hour before the services at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Larkin Gardens Cemetery, Sandy UT. The family would like to thank all those wonderful health professionals at "The Wentworth" for their care of their mother and especially Jolene Wilkinson, R.N. from Sunbrook Hospice. The help they received from Jolene, Tricia and Emily during the last weeks of Irene's life were invaluable and a true gift.
