Ivy Louise McLaughlin received expressions of love from children, grandchildren and great grandchildren on Monday night and passed away Tuesday morning in Provo.
Ivy was born in Boise, Idaho, March 23, 1924. She was the youngest of six children born to John Macbeth and Grace Lucile Jensen Macbeth. She is survived by three sons; John R. McLaughlin (Marjorie) of Provo, Douglas R. McLaughlin (Karen) of Huntington Beach, CA, and Rex R. McLaughlin of Torrance, CA, eleven grandchildren nineteen great grandchildren and her sister Marian McMillen of Solano Beach, CA.
She married J. Douglas McLaughlin, in the Mesa, AZ temple nine days after D-Day. He predeceased her. They raised their family in the Los Angeles and San Pedro, CA area and were together just six months short of fifty years. She relocated to Provo to live with her son, John, and daughter-in-law this past year. She dearly loved "her mountains" here.
She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, whose parents were a part of the early growth of the church in the Los Angeles area.
Memorial services for Ivy will be held Friday, January 18, at 1:00 p.m. in the Grandview 9th Ward, 1550 North 1350 West, Provo, with viewing beginning at 11:15 a.m., prior to the service.
