Jerry Michael Lunt "Celebrating our Dad"
Mike Lunt, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer and other medical conditions on January 17, 2008 in Ogden, Utah. Our thanks go out to the many doctors, nurses and medical personnel for their care and service.
Mike was born to Morgan and Martha (Fullmer) Lunt on May 20, 1939 in Nephi, Utah. He was the second of three children. Mike, his older brother Gary, and younger sister Karen were like the Three Musketeers.
Mike grew up in Nephi where he worked with his family on a farm raising turkeys and cattle. He attended school there and graduated from Juab High School in 1957.
Mike married the love of his life, Lexie Estep, March 29, 1958 in Escondido California. Their marriage was later solemnized for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple on June 12, 1971. Mike and Lexie spent 50 wonderful years together. They raised five children: Donna (Max) Kunzler of Salt Lake City, Utah; Lauretta (Gerald) Hill of Ogden, Utah; Teresa (John) Diyaolu of Goodyear, Arizona; Michael (Cathrine) of Ogden, Utah; and Tim (Kimberly) of American Fork, Utah.
Mike worked as a general building contractor for the past 45 years designing and building custom homes both in San Diego, California and in Utah. He was truly a master craftsman as well as a mentor to many young men in the construction trades.
Mike was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life. His passion for scouting was insurmountable; he taught many young men about the important things in life through the scouting program.
Mike is survived by his wife Lexie, his sister Karen McPherson, five children and thirteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Lunt and his parents.
When our Husband, Dad, and Grandpa wasn't working on a construction project he was engaged in one of the many hobbies he enjoyed. He loved sports, watching Old Western movies, and was an avid outdoorsman. Mike and Lexie served for many years on the Sevier County 4H council where they enjoyed participating in many livestock projects with family and friends.
Most of all, he loved spending time with family. His children and grandchildren were his treasure. Grandpa was the greatest fan and cheerleader of any team or activity that involved his grandchildren.

"Mike, Dad, Grandpa, we love you so very much. We will miss you."
