Jacqueline Carol Holbein

After a lifetime of service to the world, our sister, mother, friend, and sunshine; Jacqueline Carol Holbein was convinced by her Heavenly Father that he needed her more with him than we needed her here with us. On February 28th, our Jackie was set free.
Jackie was born in Birmingham England to the late Joyce and Arthur Morley. She served in the Royal Navy for 13 years after joining at the age of seventeen. While serving her country, she met and married Eddie Holbein with whom she had a son, Jamie Holbein. Jackie came to America initially in 1997, and finally settled here in 2002. From that time until her death, she was employed by the Valley Emergency Communications Center as a 9-1-1 dispatcher.
Jackie was a remarkable human being and had a strong and unwavering faith in the LDS church. Her life consisted of serving those around her, offering help and friendship to anyone in need, and spreading cheer, joy, and light everywhere she went. No matter what challenges she was to face, she kept her positive demeanor and taught us all to laugh in the face of adversity. Not only was she loved by her church members, co-workers, friends, and family, but she created a very special bond with the police officers she dispatched for. Each one was greeted with a "10-4 good morning" at the beginning of their shift, and a "10-4 good night" when they checked off. The absence of those once common words will be a void many of us will struggle to smile through. Jackie, you and your voice will be sorely missed.
Jackie leaves behind her 18-year-old son Jamie whom she loved so much. He was her life and she fought tenaciously to stay with him. She is also survived by her brother Neil Morley, her uncle David Freeman, and her very special adopted grandparents Dean and LaVee Cannon.
Special thanks to Rosie at the Utah Cancer Center, as well as Ben and Mary of the Radiation Department, and Kerry Tuttle of Mountain Land Physical Therapy.
Services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday March 5th, at the Taylorsville Stake Center. 4845 S Woodhaven 1165 W. Interment will follow at Wasatch Lawns 3401 S. Highland Drive. Following English tradition, those who wish to do so, may return to the church for a 'mingle' where there will be time to talk, remember, and delight in the incredible person that was Jacqueline Carol Holbein.
