James R Bartley

I have risen from the ashes time after time Charged forth in battle, stepping only one foot on the ground From a dying horse to a live one time and again I call across the skies to You, now hear me As the curtains of eternity begin to open I kneel to give praise and thanks for the journey For all the triumphs I will continue forward to be known by my true name And serve the giver of life who preserved me I am Jim

On February 3, 1939 James Ronald Bartley made his presence in this world, the first of three children to be born to Jim and Jean Bartley. Ronny, as we called him, attended military school in Barnesville, GA. Upon completion he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Amarillo, Texas. He also served as a police officer in Florida. His years of military service polished his expertise in self-defense and the protection of his fellowman. Great was his love for this art. He took advantage of every opportunity to show some of the tricks and maneuvers he had up his sleeve to his children and grandchildren. All this stemmed from a deep root in patriotism, love for his country and loyalty to his family. At the time of his departure, he worked as a supervising officer for Peak Alarm protecting the building and its tenants. He took great pride in his work, doing everything in his power and beyond, to teach and train those who worked with him. Ronny loved genealogy and did a lot of research. He would talk about the people he was researching as though he knew them. With the help of his daughter Angie, he leaves a legacy of priceless history of the Bartley history. He met and married Maria Ayala 16 years ago. He truly found his love in her. Ronny had great faith in his Heavenly Father and was very close to Him. He knew Him. His fervent communion with Him was made sweet through prayer and love for the Temple. He dedicated much of his time in the study of the scriptures and the words of modern prophets. When the storms of life came drenching him with trials, he danced in the rain. His dance steps were the spiritual movements of his perseverance. Sometimes his step moved him forward, or sideways; backwards or turns, or even graceful pirouettes, but on September 7th, 2009, he took his most refined dance step move: a leap into the portal of eternity to join his loved ones and to continue serving the Lord in the glorious realms of forever. Ronny is survived by his wife Maria and daughters Karen, Deanne, Janette and Angie and son Michael. We would like to express our deep and sincere thanks to Peak Alarm, My Ancestry.com, friends and the members of the Provo 3rd Ward for their extreme kindness, support and loving understanding. Jim, te queremos mucho, te extraé±amos y te honramos. Betzy
