James Steven Carlson

Our beloved son, brother, husband and father, James Steven Carlson, age 27, passed away peacefully Sept. 14, 2013. James was born December 21, 1985 in Murray, Ut. He married Kristen McGinnes in 2006 and together they have two sweet sons, Jonathan Michael Carlson, age 6 and Ethan James Carlson, age 3. James was shy and passionate as a young boy with many interests. James enlisted in the U.S. Army and grew into a valiant soldier, serving in Iraq from Aug 2005 to Feb 2006. James was wounded in battle and awarded two Purple Hearts for his bravery and service to his country. He is resting in peace from the afflictions that riddled his earthly body. James loved his family and his Savior. He loved fishing, 4-wheeling, reading and writing in his journals. James is preceded in death by his grandmother, Catheryn Carlson and is survived by his wife Kristen, sons Jonathan and Ethan, grandparents-Naomi & Robert Brems, Ralph Carlson, Gary & Dorothy Smith, parents, Betty Carlson, Steve & Susie Carlson, siblings, Amy & (Justyn) Tebbs, Christy & (Rommel) Valladares, Jennifer & (Shaun) Tilley, Michael & (Karlee) Carlson, Camille Carlson, Matthew Harris and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held Friday, Sept 20, 2013, 1:00pm, Viewing at 11:00am at the LDS Stake Center, 1106 E. 8050 So., Sandy, Ut. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Chase Bank Children's fund for Jonathan and Ethan, in care of Steve Carlson. God Speed James Steven Carlson! We Love You.
