Melvin Tate, 84, also known as James Green, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at the University Hospital from pneumonia.
He was born January 3, 1922, at Beggs, Oklahoma, the son of Dewitt and Cassie Tate. Although he worked at various jobs, his main occupation was a professional gambler, known as "Coldblood."
He was married July 8, 1994, in Salt Lake City to Barbara Jean Alexander, who survives him. He also leaves behind a brother, Ted (May) Tate, and many friends.
He was cremated, according to his wishes, Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2006, at the Unity Baptist Church, 1170 West 1000 North.
