James "Jim" Quentin Nafts, 69, of Sandy Utah died September 14, 2010. He was born in Billings, Montana on April 6, 1941. He was raised on a farm in Huntley, Montana and graduated from the Huntley Project High School in 1959.
He started his career in the Electrical field in California where he married Janice Nafts. He relocated to Colorado and finally settled in Sandy, Utah in 1975. He worked in Electrical sales for over 30 years, finishing his career, with Siemens Industries Inc. He retired in October 2007. Jim was admired by all that he worked with. He was a friend, Mentor, and inspiration to many, new and old in the Electrical Industry.
As the oldest male of five siblings, Jim assumed the role of big brother and provided guidance and assistance to the other members of his family. He had a quick wit, glorious sense of humor, and never gave in to a challenge. He loved socializing and playing cards, especially pinochle. He recently became involved with the Sandy Senior Citizens Center and was appointed government representative, by the group of which he felt honored.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Janice, Parents, Henry and Eleanor (Gruel) Nafts; Sister, Vivian Zavala.
He is survived by his son Marc (Tonja) Nafts; Sister - Patricia Caine; Brother- Roger Nafts; and Sister- Janet Ellis along with many friends. Jim will be deeply missed.
Services for Jim will be held Monday, September 20th, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Grace Community Bible Church, located at 11592 South 1300 East, Sandy, UT.
