James Roy Vermillion passed away on March 27, 2011 surrounded by his family. He was born October 13, 1929 in Lake Arther, New Mexico to Roy Leonard and Laura Lynn Spence Vermillion. He married his sweetheart, Hazel Lee Robbs Vermillion on May 27, 1949 in Safford, Arizona.
James graduated from high school in Washington. He was a farmer and a rancher. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He has 4 children, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. He enjoyed woodworking and welding.
His is survived by his wife Hazel, his children Naoma Hudson, James Vermillion, and Lee Ann Freeze. Also survived by his sister Betty Clark of Gentry, Arkansas, his brothers, Lewis Vermillion of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Joe Vermillion of Joplin, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his son Lewis Vermillion.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Newton Burial Park in Nevada, Missouri at 2:00 p.m. Services in Missouri under the direction of Lohmeyer - Konantz Funeral Home. Services in Utah under the direction of SereniCare Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer Association.
