Jean Banks

Jean Marie Banks; 67, of West Valley City, Utah died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake. Jean was born December 2, 1941 in Payson, Utah the daughter of Elmer Aaron Smethurst and Leona Mayer Smethurst. She attended schools in Payson, Utah. She married Rodney D. Banks on February 14, 1959 in the Manti LDS Temple. They later divorced. Her life was her children and grandkids. She is survived by her children Rod Banks of West Valley City, Utah and Craig (Kelly) Banks of Roosevelt, Utah. Four grandchildren, Tye Banks, Amanda Tovar, Drew Banks and Cody Banks. Brother, Dale Smethurst. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter LuAnn Banks. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 8, 2009 in the Granger LDS 15th Ward, (2835 South, 2855 West, West Valley City) at 11:00 a.m. The family will meet with friends on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 am at the church. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery. We express our appreciation to Jacque Mars and Bishop Steve Nichols and family for their compassion to our mother.
