Jean Antoinette Gardner, 71, of Midvale, UT, passed away on September 6, 2008. Jean was born on October 25, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA to Jean A (Curtis) and Elwood F. Githens. She was raised and educated in Pennsylvania and graduated from Bensalem High School in Cornwells Heights, PA. On June 8, 1957 Jean married Raymond W. Gardner. Jean worked for many years for the Salt Lake School District. Jean loved spending her free time in the mountains where she could enjoy seeing the animals. Jean loved all types of animals and had many for pets. She was active in her church and loved to travel. Jean is survived by her husband, Raymond Gardner; daughter, Holly (Don) A. Gardner Burch; son, Alan L. Gardner; and a sister, Lynne Gardener, PA; she was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the First Southern Baptist Church of Bountiful at 696 N. 400 E., Bountiful, UT. The family would like thank CareSource Hospice and Jane Weik for the care they gave to Jean.
