Jean Toni Williams

The lights of heaven are burning a little brighter with the arrival of our beloved Jean on October 18, 2011. Raised in the warm and loving arms of Robert & Della Allen on August 13, 1929 in Oklahoma, Jean and her mischievous siblings Ralph, Millie, Thelma, Della & James maintained a strong close knit interaction throughout life. When the new blonde bombshell started her senior year at Carbon High School, her gaze locked on Bill Williams, a handsome returning World War II navy veteran. He was equally transfixed. The two soul-mates destiny was set. While the argument over who really knocked whose books out of the others hands remains a mystery, their love, marriage and 64 years of marital bliss was happily set in motion. They were proud of their sons, Scott & Kent. Jean's love for learning & education was passed on to her children. She further demonstrated her sincerity by returning to college when her sons were in school. She attended the University of Utah where she earned her B. A. & M.S.W. in Social Work. This became the perfect vocation as she blended her passion to help adults & children with resolving significant problems. One would have thought that retiring after thirty years of service to the Department of Human Services would have quieted her passion to help others. However, the continuation of late nights, weekends, interrupted meals and plans did not stop or slow. It is said that the only change for a social worker after retirement is that you are no longer underpaid... you now do it for free. Her last case is still pending. She traveled to many sports fields to support her children and grand-children. She loved to cook and swap recipes which were usually hers. Genealogy became a passion and is demonstrated in her published books on the family. She was still completing the Williams clan at the time of her death. Additional surviving family includes: Scott & Shawnie and sons: Jason (Erin, grandsons Aidan & Noah), Jared, Jacob (Rachel, grandson Ethan), Kent & Yvonne and son Brett, daughter Nikki and son Jeremy (Joanna, grandsons Aidan & Jude). Funeral Services will be held Saturday October 22, 2011, 12:00 PM in the Olympus 7th Ward at 2675 East 4430 South, Holladay, Utah. Friends may visit the family at the viewing Friday 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. and Saturday from 11:00 to 11:45 A.M.
