Jennie Cahoon Fry

Our beloved mother, Jennie Fry, passed away on January 2, 2009 in Bountiful, Utah at the age of 93. She was born on March 10, 1915 in Cleveland, Idaho to Alonzo Cahoon and Chloe Elizabeth Cahoon. She married her high school sweetheart, Glen R. Fry, on September 18, 1935. Mom spent her early years in Idaho and has told her children and grandchildren many stories about her experiences on the farm, school, and the hard winters they endured. She was a devoted homemaker and mother to her family and has helped each one of them numerous times with services, a loving smile, and hard work. She loved gardening and always had a beautiful yard. She also loved quilting and crocheting. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in many callings. She is survived by her children: LeeRoy (Arlene) Fry, Deeloy (Judy) Fry, Elaine DeFreese, Betty (Archie) Campbell, Raymond (Linda) Fry; sister, Rhonda Sparrow; brother, Dan Cahoon; 18 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Alvin and Wallace; sister Nellie; and son-in-law, Gary DeFreese. We would like to express our appreciation to the staff at the Bountiful Avalon Care Center for their kind and loving care of our mom over the past three years. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Hunter 23rd Ward Chapel (3665 South 6000 West) West Valley City, Utah.
