Jennifer Susan Palosky was born on February 28, 1957 in Salt Lake City. She was adopted at birth by Fred and Norma Palosky. Jenny lost her two year battle with a rare, aggressive form of ovarian cancer on September 24, 2024 at her home in Park City with her two loving guys, husband Matt Kirksey and her golden lab Winston at her side.
Raised in Holladay in a neighborhood filled with young families she had a great childhood with many friends, some of which remained close with her throughout her life. Within a few minutes drive were aunts, uncles and lots of cousins that she also has remained close to.
Jenny graduated as a Pharmacist from the University of Utah at a time when females only made up 20% of the profession. She spent a majority of her career working at the University of Utah Hospital retiring in 2022.
While Jenny enjoyed the challenges and constantly changing practice of pharmacy her real joy was being outside biking, skiing, hiking, river running and traveling. Jenny was an adventurous soul. While in college she and a college friend took a bus across the US and up to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia were the two became crew members on a sailboat that was being delivered to Bermuda. Jenny enjoyed traveling to Spain and Italy where she did numerous road bike trips. She did many out of the state ski trips and visited about 65% of the US National Parks and several of the western Canadian National Parks. Sun Valley and Moab were the “go to” weekend trip destinations.
Jenny and Matt lived in Cottonwood Heights for 23 years in a great neighborhood in which they made lifelong friends. With retirement approaching in 2015 they moved to Park City to be closer to the recreation activities that they were enjoying later in life. As with Cottonwood Heights, many friendships followed in Park City. Jenny took pride in her homes doing several remodeling projects and creating beautiful gardens that she enjoyed tending.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. If you are interested in attending please share your contact information with Matt Kirksey at JPLifeCelebration@gmail.com. No flowers, please. If you are so inclined, please make a donation to the Huntsman Cancer Institute, where Jenny received world class care.
