Jimmie A Barber 1947 - 2008 THE ONLY MAN WE KNEW WHO COULD MOVE A MOUNTAIN! Jim passed away serenely at Holladay Health Care Center on December 13, 2008 after a long battle with Leukemia. He was born in Salt Lake City, UT to Alvin Barber and Bessie (Jones) Postma. Jim loved sports in everyway, either watching them or playing them. He was an avid Utah Ute and Jazz fan. He would not miss a game for anything. He loved roller skating and old movies such as John Wayne and Charlie Chan. He loved Rocky Balboa, Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris. Jim loved to watch wrestling in the "Hulk Hogan" era; he sometimes would play around as if he were in the ring with Hogan. Jim loved music as well. Some of his favorite artists were Buddy Holly, The Monkees, Elvis, Abba, The Hollies and Paul Revere and the Raiders just to name a few. Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents; John and Mae Barber, James and May Jones as well as his father Alvin Barber and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his mother Bessie (Jones) Postma, stepfather; Louis Postma, one brother, Louis Postma Jr and his wife Pam. Four sisters, Mennetta and her husband Cliff Eccles, Jenny, Marilyn and Janet, three daughters, Hollie (Barber) Hatcher, Monica Barber, Jessica (Barber) Longshaw, six granddaughters, Felicia, Christina, Mekenzee, Jasmine, Mariana, Gabrielle, four grandsons, Hayden, Brandon, Kyler and Nicholas along with many nieces and nephews. A wake will be held December 20, 2008 at the Clover Creek Apartments Clubhouse in Murray, Utah from 4 to 8 p.m.
