Joan Baker
St. George, UT - Joan Baker, age 78, passed away December 13, 2010, in Murray, UT. She was born September 16, 1932, in Salt Lake City, UT. She married David Eugene Baker in North Hollywood, CA, on May 18, 1957. One year later they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. They were married 54 years.
Joan was a loving, caring, and creative grandmother, mother, sister, and wife. She treasured her family, loved to travel, and enjoyed playing games such as Yahtzee or a raucous round of Hand and Foot.
She considered her sons and daughters-in-law to be her own children and felt truly blessed. Mom, you will surely be missed, but you will live in us through our wonderful memories.
She is survived by: husband, David; children, David A. (Janet) Baker, Renon (Leonard) Hartley, Richard M. (Georgia) Baker, and Saundra (Terry) Johnson; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren with 5 more on the way; and a brother, Richard E. (Judith) Grisham. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Gertrude Martineau Grisham.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Snow Canyon Fourth Branch Chapel, 1610 N. Dixie Downs Rd., St. George, UT. A visitation will take place prior to services from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the chapel.
