Joanne Merryweather, age 78, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2010 in her home in Pleasant Grove, UT. She was born on June 4th, 1932 in Payson, UT, the daughter of James Edwin Provstgaard and Eliza Hilma Hatfield. Joanne married Frank Bullock Merryweather for time and all eternity on October 9th, 1952 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Joanne's numerous occupations mirrored her many talents and loves, namely caring for others, cooking, sewing, and crafts of all kinds. She loved a bargain, and could always be found hunting for deals at the NPS store, and knew the location of every Deseret Industries store within two hundred miles. She was a dedicated visiting teacher, and attended Daughters of the Utah Pioneers until her health prohibited her from doing so. She was the life of every party, and the first smile seen at any gathering. She made friends instantly, and remained loyal to every one.
Joanne's greatest love was above all her family. No matter how large it grew, she always had enough affection, fun, hugs, and pride for their accomplishments to go around. She especially delighted in her 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom loved her "the best".
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and is survived by her husband Frank, children Patricia (Norman) Allman, Jim (Rene) Merryweather, David (Janice) Merryweather, Rick (Susan) Merryweather, Brad Merryweather, Jeff (Tonja) Merryweather, Jason (Tammy) Merryweather, and 2 sisters: Lauralee Wood, and LaRae Lopez. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Sheldon and Howard, and sister Gayle Matson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday Oct 5th, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. at the Battlecreek 5th Ward chapel, 825 South Loader Drive (approx. 1000 East) in Pleasant Grove. Viewing held same day and location from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment at Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
Many thanks to DaVita American Fork Dialysis Center, and Orchard Park Care Center for their loving care of Joanne.
