John Stephen Findlay

Clearfield - John Stephen Findlay our beloved father, grandfather, and friend began his new journey on March 8, 2009. He was a very humble and simple man that cherished his family and friends. John was born to Thomas and Louie Findlay on September 28, 1941 in Layton, Utah. He completed a tour of duty on the USS Kitty Hawk. In 1965 he married Trudy, the mother of his four children, and later divorced. John retired from Hill Air Force Base as a machinist after 27 years, but got tired of the coffee shop drama, so he spent another 16 years working at Jim's Used Tires in Clearfield. Although John loved spending time outdoors his passion was spending quality time watching movies with his family. John is survived by his children Stephen (Deana), Anthony (Kaylene), Shawn ( Becky), Tammy, and Corey; and grandchildren Travis, Amber, Ganette, Anthony Jr., Joey, Shelby, and Kenneth. He also has one great grandchild on the way. Other survivors include Thomas (Gerda), Lynn, Reed (Barbara). He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister in law Elaine. Special thanks to Robert, Jackie, and Patty at Peregrine Hospice for their loving care of our father. We would also like to thank the staff at SereniCare for their kind and compassionate care. From her children we would like to give a very special thanks to our Mom Trudy for all of her support.
