John Edward Marriott

John Edward Marriott, 77, of Riverton, UT passed away on Saturday October 18, 2008 with family at his side. John was born on August 29, 1931 in Ogden, UT to Minnie E. (Larsen) and Thomas M. Marriott. John married Yvonne McArthur on November 24, 1950, together they had seven children, they were later divorced. He served his country faithfully during the Korean War in the United States Air Force. John graduated from Utah State University with his Bachelors degree in Engineering. John was an Electrical Engineer working for Hughes Aircraft in El Segundo, CA from 1959 to 1987 where he retired. He then moved to Nephi, UT where he met and married Mabel Robinson on November 2, 1990. John had a great love for computers and anything that had to do with electronics. John is survived by his wife, Mabel Marriott; children, Linda (Greg) Whitaker; Larry (Pam) Marriott; Brenda (Brad) Bartik; Mike Marriott; Diane (Brent) Reese; Tom (Sharon) Marriott; and Darren Marriott; sister, Louise (Robert) Cox; 26 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Graveside services will be on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 12:00 noon, at the Ogden City Cemetery, 700 East 20th Street, Ogden, UT. Viewing will be on Friday, October 24, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Riverton 14th Ward Building, 1855 West 13400 South, Riverton, UT .
