John Bill Montoya

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend returned home to his Heavenly Father on the morning of April 26, 2007. John was born on Sept. 19, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joe Montoya and Isabelle Garcia Montoya.
He served with the U.S. Marines from June 9, 1955 to June 8, 1962. He was employed with the Tooele Army Depot for 25 years until he retired. After his retirement, John worked at Sapp Brothers truck stop for several years.
John enjoyed fishing and drive-in movies with grandchildren and taking trips to Wendover and Idaho.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Maria L. and their six children; Armando(Elizabeth), Ray (Annette), Virginia (Ric), Lydia (Mark), John (Jennifer), Frances (Paul). John is also survived by his children from a previous marriage; Mike (Jeanie), Denise (Clyde), Rosalinda and Brent; 29 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; Sisters, Verna (Floriano) Valdez, Linda Trujillo, brothers Benjamin (Donna) Montoya and Gus Martinez.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Isabelle Martinez and stepfather Max Martinez, father Joe Montoya, grandson Mathew Stoddard.
Special thanks and appreciation to Robb and Paula (Love Hospice). We will all miss you big John.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the Utah Veteran's Memorial Park Chapel at 12:00 noon. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the Chapel located at 17111 Camp Williams Road.
