John Warren Wilhite

With his children and his sweetheart at his bedside, John Warren Wilhite, 65, stepped from this life into eternity after battling a sudden illness. He has been welcomed on the other side of the veil in the arms of his daughter, Jaime, who passed 4 years ago.
Born to Billy and Vivian Wilhite in San Diego, CA., John served a mission in the New England/Eastern States from '65-'67. He was loved by his family and everyone who knew him. The only thing he loved more than his children and grandchildren was Nancy, his sweetheart of 42 years. Together, they have served their family, in the Draper Temple, and as missionaries in the Hispanic Initiative program for the LDS Church. He spent countless hours in service and love for his family and friends. He also helped others through a variety of church leadership positions. That service will certainly continue on the other side of the veil.
As a prolific architect for 40 years, monuments of his talent and skill dot the nation. He valued his associates and they enjoyed working with him because of his honesty and integrity. He loved wave running, camping, ATVs, BYU football games and anything else he could do with his children and grandchildren. His positive attitude and infectious smile will be missed by his wife, 5 living children and 16 grandchildren (each one his favorite).
He is preceded in death by his father Billy and his daughter Jaime. He is survived by his wife Nancy, children Wendy (Harold) Glade, Scott (Becca) Wilhite, Brent (Jen) Wilhite, Lori (Sam) Harvey, Tyler Wilhite, his mother Vivian, his brothers David (Dorothy) and Jim (Joy) and sister Beatrice (Chuck) Watson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 27 at 11:00 at the Alta Canyon Chapel 2400 E. Alta Canyon Dr. in Sandy. Family and friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alta Canyon Chapel or from 9:30 to 10:45 Saturday. Please share your love for and memories of John at welovejohnw.blogspot.com.
