Joseph Verl Green April 22, 1925 - April 1, 2010 Joe was preceded in death by his lovely wife LaVern Banger Green and daughter Randy Alder Green. He married his sweetheart LaVern in the Salt Lake Temple August 15, 1946 and always said she was his "Perfect 10". Joe left 5 children behind: Karen White (Max); Dale Green (Vicki); Vicki Fox (Dick); Wendy Skog; Carri Green (Dana); 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday April 6, 2010, at 12:00 PM, at the Granger L.D.S. Stake House (2850 West 3835 South, West Valley City). A viewing will be held two hours prior to the services. The site of Interment is at Camp Williams Cemetery (17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale). Special thanks is given to the V.A Hospital, Superior Homecare - Hospice.

Tributes To Joe: a€¢ As a child he enjoyed a paper-route, riding bicycles with his brother, playing the trombone and was an excellent swimmer. At age 17 he worked as a cesspool contractor digging 5' round X 20' deep holes . a€¢ Military service: WWII from 1942-1946 -US Navy. Served in the Amphibious Forces; Captain of the Higgins Boat (landed Marines and Soldiers on the beach for invasions). Later enlisted in the Army Reserves (1949-1953) and served as an MP and Aircraft Machinist. a€¢ As a Handy Man he enjoyed building 3 homes for his family. This time was well spent including the family; and teaching the trade to his children. a€¢ Machinist at Kennecott Copper and Retired as a Machinist with the Bureau of Mines on April 24, 1987. a€¢ Joe was an excellent family man! He supported his family working many jobs ; Life insurance Salesman, Dry Cleaning Business and took care of his wife during many health issues. a€¢ Church servant: As of 2009 he was blessed to be in 7 bishoprics, 7 years as a temple worker, Sunday school teacher, Young men's president, priesthood advisor, guide at welfare square and dedicated many hours to Genealogy and also had the privilege of serving on a Stake Mission. a€¢ Volunteered for the West Valley City Police Department- giving tickets to vehicles parked in Handicapped spots.
Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa- you will be missed and in our hearts forever but we are happy that you and Mom will be together for all time and eternity.
