Joseph August Hair

Joseph August Hair (Grumpy), age 82, joined his Little Flower in heaven, on July 28, 2010. He was born on October 25, 1927, in Midway, UT to Gerald Hair and Ethel Nielson. He attended Lincoln High School in Orem Utah and married, Lois Makin, July 17, 1947 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple in 1962. Joe enjoyed many outdoor hobbies including; fishing, hunting, camping, three wheeling, and riding dune buggies. He was a fun loving person who enjoyed teasing his children and grandchildren. Dad was a successful mechanic and a man of many talents. He was a hard worker who could fix or build anything and often worked multiple jobs to ensure his family had everything they needed. He retired from Geneva Steel in 1988 after 32 years of service. Joe is survived by his six children, Jody (Conrad) Huff, Jay (Kathy) Hair, Doug (Kathy) Hair, Julee Pierce, Jerry Hair, Janet (Robert) Winters, 22 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving Little Flower (Lois Hair), 3 sisters, and a grandson Tyler Topham. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the Park 8th Ward Chapel, located at 114 South 400 West. Friends and family may call that morning from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
