Joyce Naylor Christensen

Joyce Naylor Christensen, daughter of John Revell and Rosella Wright Naylor, passed away peacefully on July 16 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Joyce was among the first graduating class at Orem High School in 1959 and later attended BYU. She married Larry Orson Christensen in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1960 and is survived by five children, Dave Christensen, Tammy Jenkins, Jen Taylor, Gary Christensen and Julie Nance. Joyce is also survived by Larry (divorced later in life), and 19 grandchildren with the first great-grandchild on the way.
Joyce was an amazing cake decorator, lover of music (especially musicals) and all things patriotic. Through the latter part of her life, she dealt with mental illness which evolved into her diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. Through all of this, she retained a deep love for her children and the Savior. Because of this love, she was able to bear her sicknesses with exemplary endurance and faith. She is loved and will be missed.
Funeral services will be held July 22, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Hillcrest 3rd Ward building located on 1450 S. 800 E. Orem. A viewing will start at 10:00 am the same day at the same location. She will then be laid to rest in the Provo Cemetery.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to those from Alpha Omega Hospice and Bel Aire Assisted Living, who have cared for and grown to love Joyce, as her children do.
