On August 14, 2012, Joyce Hall was surrounded at home by her children, grand children and great grand children when she passed away after a brief illness. She was born in American Falls, ID on July 18, 1929 to Vern and Clotheil Eames and was the third of twelve children. Preceded in death by Robert Bates and Robert (Dutch) Hall, she is survived by her children: Greg (Debbie) Johnson, Robyn (Mike) Shaw, and Shelly (Thom) Filgo, as well as 5 grand children and 8 great grandchildren. Joyce loved cooking, jazz music, live theatre, all sports (particularly Utah Jazz basketball), bridge with her girlfriends, motor home travel with Dutch, the Democratic Party and it's ideals, and her pampered, well fed pets. Most of all, she loved being home where her door was always open to family and friends, young and old. No neighborhood youngster ever left without something sweet in their pocket. A private ceremony for the family will be held on Friday, August 24th at 1:00pm at the Veterans Memorial Park in Bluffdale, UT, followed by an open gathering at her home from 4:00-9:00pm for her family and all who knew her. Joyce's children would like to express their gratitude and thanks to all who provided loving care to her in her final days, especially CareSource Hospice Service, the RNs and staff at St. Mark's Hospital (3 West), as well as SereniCare Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Utah Humane Society.
