Judith Ann James, 64, of Draper, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at her home. She was born January 28, 1944 in Des Moines, IA to Paul and Marguerite (Haluska) Brownell. She attended St. Joseph's Academy in Des Moines, IA. Judith married George Ross James Jr. on October 6, 1964 in Des Moines, IA. She worked at ATT&T as an Information operator. Judith was the best mom, best friend, best grandma and prankster. She loved to knit hats for preemie babies at Primary Children's Hospital; she also knitted baby hats and blankets for crisis pregnancy center. She was able to pass her knitting skills on by teaching young girls at a knitting club. Judith cared for children in the church nursery at South Mountain Community Church and participated in MOPS (Moms Of Preschoolers) as a care giver. She began and attended "Girls our Age" and mentored young mommies. She would have taxi cabs pick up her grandchildren and to give them rides. Judith also had owned and operated an ironing business for a number of years. Judith is survived by her children; Julie Ayers, Brian James, and Renee Burk; other significant family; Steve Burk, Jeff Ayers, Ellie Ayers, Nick Ayers, Nathan Ayers, and Aiden Ayers. Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2009 at the South Mountain Community Church, 12411 S. 265 W. Suite A, Draper, UT. The family would like to thank Tristin & Ann, the staff at Utah Hospice Specialist, the doctors and nurses at IMC and Dr. Jane MacPherson. Flowers can be sent to the family at South Mountain Community Church no earlier than Friday April 3, 2009.
